"When we went to the Lowery I enjoyed it a great Deal. I also learnt all like back then not allot of people could read or write. I think I will like the animation club because I enjoy drawing."

"I thought King Cotton was a great play to watch because it gave us some ideas for our animation on cotton. It showed us the conditions that the factory workers in England and the slaves in America had to endure. The play was very funny as well."

Laura Howarth
"King Cotton was very exiting and interesting. The play showed the 1860's from 2 different views. The play was very funny when it wanted to be but also made me nervous, scared and sad. The God character was VERY funny and I couldn't stop laughing. Also, the brass music was incredible because they all had good dynamics and were all together. They really set the mood for many of the scenes and the acoustics helped to fill the theatre with excellent music. The actors were very fluent and were good singers."

Hello there,
I'm really thrilled to read online about some of your students attending King Cotton and that it is the starting point of an exciting heritage project for them - I'd be really interested in having a look at the end product!
best wishes.
